At the NW District UMM organizational meeting last
Sunday afternoon, 8/20, at Lanes Chapel-Tyler. We had sixteen men present,
including the DS who graciously participated in our conversations and
lifted the spirit of the meeting.

bylaws for the new NW District and elected and installed new District UMM
officers, including a President, John "Danny" Taylor from Quitman UMC,
Vice President Bill Brown from Payne Springs UMC and Secretary/Treasurer
Mike Oneal from Lanes Chapel UMC. Praise God for these men's ministry
servants.
The North District UMM Organizational meeting met with
similar success on Saturday, 8/19, at Linden UMC. There were nine men
present as we were graciously hosted by Rev. Mark McClanahan.

President, Bennie Franks from Summit UMC-Marshall, and three Vice
Presidents, Ken Swanger from Hardy Memorial-Texarkana, Pat Owens from St.

was also quickly appointed the North District Scouting Coordinator by the
new President. The Secretary and Treasurer will be elected by this new
district men's ministry team at a called meeting in the very near future.

Attendance was 2100-2200, off from previous events, but the group did have
their "Hearts Afire for God". The workshops were effective and well
attended. Start making your plans now to be at the next Gathering, it is
an event that once you go, you will be back.
